Carnivorous by design, the "Pit Knife" (as in BBQ pit) is a great grilling, smoking, and barbecue knife - but is equally at home in the kitchen as an all-purpose chef knife. This knife is a robust chopper but still very well-balanced. 

The blade was hand-forged from 1095 high carbon steel. The blade was then ground to it's final shape, clayed and heat-treated to create a temper line. A handle was sculpted from stabilized hickory and mesquite that touts a hand-rubbed tung oil finish. The knife was then sharpened to a razors edge and the handle and blade were hand-polished with a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax. Every step of this process was completed in my workshop, creating a one of a kind, hand-forged knife.
